Vietnam Travellog 2017, (1)

Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon

Peace be upon you whoever is reading this blog. In this entry, I will update several things about my trip to Ho Chi MInh City recently. This time I travelled with my colleague. The trip was 5days 4 nights. We both stayed in Xavier Hotel, Benh Thanh market area, District 1.

Preparation Tips

👍 Currency change- Vietnam Dong
✔We changed only RM100 to Vietnam Dong to pay for our taxi once we arrived Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City. No need to change big amount because we planned to change at Benh Thanh Market area as the exchange rate is quite high there.

RM100 to 520,000 dong. We went to Plaza Alam Sentral, Shah Alam money changer. The change rate was quite ok.

👍  Clothes
✔Don't bring too many because you would end up buying more clothes as it is quite cheap. But I guess it depends on everyone preferences.
✔Wear cotton materials or rather thin materials because the daily temperature would reach 32 celcius during the day and 28 celcius at the night

👍 Shopping
✔ Bring a lot of cash if you plan to shop a lot for your family and friends, what more if you plan to make business out of it. I will tell later in the next entry why you need a lot of cash.

Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Note that once you reached the airport,  before you reach immigration area, there will be small booth that sell simcard with unlimited data internet plan for only RM40. They accept RM, so we paid in RM. We thought it was quite an affordable price so we bought it, without knowing what happened next. I will tell later whether you will really need to buy the simcard internet data or not.

The airport is quite modern and clean.

We arrived quite late in Ho Chi Minh City, around 8.30 pm, We took taxi to our hotel and the cost of taxi from airport to the hotel was 200,000 dong which was around RM37. We used dong to pay for the taxi. Actually, if you arrived during the day, you can catch the bus and the cost is way cheaper than this.

After we checked in the hotel, we put our stuff and we planned to walk outside the hotel to get some food because we were quite hungry. Then we planned for the next day.  I think I will stop here. Until the next entry guys. 😎
